Nowadays, oil prices are expensive, and people who ride motorcycles are also concerned about fuel consumption. In fact, motorcycles have a small displacement, and compared to cars, fuel consumption is very low.
If you suddenly notice high fuel consumption after using the motorcycle for a period of time, you can look for the cause on the motorcycle.
Cycling habits
For example, some people prefer to pursue power when riding a motorcycle. They start in first gear, go in second gear at 10 kilometers, go in third gear at 25-30 kilometers, go in fourth gear at 45-55 kilometers, and go in fifth gear at 65/70 kilometers. The gear changes are quite fast, allowing the car to accelerate quickly, but fuel consumption is also much higher.
If the engine speed is often kept at around 4000 rpm and the car speed is controlled at 45 km/h, it is very fuel-efficient.
Maintenance status
If a motorcycle runs for a long time, dust will run into the air filter. If it is not cleaned or replaced properly, insufficient air intake will naturally cause poor combustion and increased fuel consumption. So the air filter must be replaced every 7000 to 10000 kilometers.
Generally, when changing the engine oil around 2000 kilometers, the lubrication is in place and the fuel consumption is relatively low.
Tire pressure
If the pressure of motorcycle tires is always very low, of course, there will be high friction and fuel consumption. However, if the tires are used for a long time, they will wear out severely and have poor grip performance, which can also affect fuel consumption. If replaced with a wider tire, the friction force will also increase relatively, and fuel consumption will also increase.
Mixing ratio
In theory, the ratio of air to fuel combustion is 14.7:1, which results in the best combustion effect. The spark plugs produced are brick red. If the mixing ratio is relatively thick, it will allow more oil to enter the cylinder for combustion, which will consume more fuel. Generally, electric fuel injection vehicles have a pre-set mixing ratio at the factory.
Sensor issues
Electric fuel injection motorcycles will judge the current engine load situation based on signals such as oxygen sensors, pressure sensors, and throttle opening sensors, and then decide how much fuel to spray. If these sensors have problems or the signal is abnormal,It can also cause fuel injection strategy errors, resulting in high fuel consumption.
